Welcome to Ladiez of Legacy & Associates!
We are a legacy-driven, faith-based, women-veteran owed and creative resource network supporting women veterans and their daughters (ages 13-19) through the emotional challenges in the journey of learning differences – (ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
MISSION
Our mission is to encourage, empower and engage veteran women and their daughters with comfort knowing that they are not alone in the midst of the learning difference diagnosis.
HISTORY
Ladiez of Legacy & Associates was inspired in 2008 at the Gourdin/Gourdine Family Reunion as we met on the elevation of family, education and legacy. Little did I know that five years later the vision of my life would be made clear through the journey with my daughter. My daughter was diagnosed in fourth grade and I sought advisement from my circle friends, family and church, but unfortunately I did not achieve positive results. I found that the African-American community has a stigma/negative label of learning differences. The lack of knowledge about ADHD and other differences tends to place judgment of ourselves as parents and the child. This is how I felt as at first as I was in denial and then blamed myself for my daughter’s difference. One day going to work on the train, I felt so defeated because I did not know how to help my daughter. My heart was broken, until two of my veteran co-workers – My Band of Roses pulled me to the side, comforted me and provided me with information to assist me and my daughter to walk this journey of ADHD. My Band of Roses and I formed our Creative Connection Community and are assisting other veteran mothers who are stuck in the emotional rollercoaster that learning differences bring. Today, our children are thriving by graduating from high school, going to college and becoming employed.
Ladiez of Legacy & Associates credits CB Bundy Consulting and KB Beauty for inspiring several military/veteran mothers to continue the advocacy. We have the power within to form that bond and make a difference with ourselves and children.
ABOUT ME
I am Natachia G. Tyson, Family Engagement Strategist, Author, Creative Legacy Influencer and Veteran providing resources needed to assist veteran mothers and their daughters navigate the emotional challenges of learning differences. My focus is to promote encouragement and empowerment for Mothers and Daughters in this journey. Each child is entitled to effective Special Education system that prepares a student for Further Education, Employment and Independent Living. I am currently walking that journey with my daughter who was given the ADHD assessment, but through “Doing the Work” and the Creative Care Model TM, we are thriving in maintaining a loving and creative bond that will endure time. It is our hope to assist you in disseminating the information needed, that you can be more informed and form that same bond.
I also am an affiliate for Transformation Academy.
